WHAT IS BULBINE?
Bulbine frutescens (L.) Willd is a succulent plant belonging to the family of Asphodelaceae and is widespread in southern Africa.
Indigenous people of southern Africa have been familiar with this plant for generations. The leaves contain a gel that is used as an effective remedy for various topical skin and hair conditions such as burns, wounds, skin rashes, eczema, insect bites, etc.
The gel is also known to relieve discomfort immediately, has instant anti-itching and redness reducing effects, and expedites the skin recovery process.
Bulbine frutescens is a unique plant with incredible healing, soothing and moisturising qualities.
Bulbine frutescens protects dry and sensitive skin and helps increase skin hydration and elasticity.
Bulbine frutescens enables the restoration of skin barrier function, reducing sensitisation and improving moisture retention.
TIMOLA® is a sePedi (Northern Sotho) word that means “to soothe”. The word is also used to explain the action of putting out a fire. This is the perfect word to explain the action of the Bulbine extract on the skin.
